Breast milk is the perfect food for your baby. Though this is essential, sometimes the breast milk supply may go up and down; which may leave you frustrated. Therefore having a constant supply of water and fluids helps.
for example;
During each breast feeding time, take a large glass of water. This helps compensate for the fluid loss during breastfeeding and allows the body make more for the next feed.
On occasions when your not with your baby, go with a large bottle of water to drink during the day so your baby has enough on their next feed.
If your not a water person, then you can try flavouring your water with;
- Fruit and vegetable slices like cucumber, orange, tangerine or mango
- Spices like ginger (just a little) or cinnamon
- Herbs like rosemary or mint
I would recommend Breast feeding Mothers to take a lot of fluids - get creative and do what works for you. Keep in mind the goal is to remain hydrated
